This handbook outlines important information to help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for your child.
Permission to Participate
We ensure all programs and activities are conducted safely and responsibly by qualified personnel. However, due to the nature of some activities, there is a possibility of accidental injury. By enrolling your child, you acknowledge these risks and release Camp Gan Israel from liability for any injuries that may occur.
Enrollment Policy
The camp administration reserves the right to reconsider the enrollment of any camper if their needs, level of functioning, or behavior cannot be accommodated, or if their conduct limits their ability to participate in camp activities.
Late Registration or Adding/Transferring Weeks
After camp begins, campers may add or transfer weeks at the sole discretion of the camp administration. Weekly rates will apply.
Camper Enrollment and Behavior Policy
Camp Gan Israel is committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment for all participants. The camp reserves the right to evaluate and, if necessary, revoke a camper’s enrollment if their needs, behavior, or ability to engage with the program cannot be appropriately accommodated.
If a camper’s conduct disrupts the camp experience or poses a challenge to the well-being of other campers or staff, the camp may determine that dismissal is necessary. In such cases, no refunds will be provided.
Responsibility for Damage
Parents or guardians are responsible for any loss, damage, or destruction caused by their camper to any property belonging to Camp Gan Israel or property for which the camp is liable.
Medication and Medical Care
For campers requiring medication during camp hours, all medications must be clearly labeled with the camper's name and accompanied by written dosage instructions and a parent or guardian's signature. Our camp director oversees all health care and medication administration to ensure proper handling and compliance with safety protocols.
In the event of a medical emergency where parents or guardians cannot be reached, Camp Gan Israel is authorized to seek necessary medical treatment, including hospitalization or injections, to ensure the health and safety of the camper.
Dress Code
For the safety and uniformity of all campers, specific attire is required on designated days. Each camper will receive their first CGI t-shirt at no additional cost, which must be worn on all trip days. A CGI swim shirt, required for all swim days, must be purchased for $15. Additional t-shirts and swim shirts are available for purchase prior to the start of camp, and it is recommended to have extras on hand for convenience.
If a camper arrives without the required t-shirt or swim shirt, the camp will provide a replacement to ensure they can participate in activities. In such cases, the account on file will be charged $10 for a replacement t-shirt or $15 for a replacement swim shirt. These requirements are mandatory and designed to ensure the safety and well-being of all campers.
Use of Media
By enrolling your child in Camp Gan Israel, you authorize the camp to capture photographs and video recordings of your child during camp activities. These images and recordings may be used for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to the camp’s website, social media platforms, and printed or digital promotional materials. This authorization helps us showcase the vibrant and enriching experiences at Camp Gan Israel.
Personal Property
Camp Gan Israel is not responsible for any personal items brought to camp. Personal sports equipment will be stored by counselors and used only under supervision. Illegal substances or weapons are strictly prohibited. The camp reserves the right to conduct searches if necessary.
Safety
All counselors are trained in CPR and First Aid. The swimming pool is supervised at all times by certified lifeguards. Field trips are monitored with constant mobile communication with the camp office.
Security Procedures
A security staff member will be on-site throughout the day. Counselors will maintain constant communication with the office via walkie-talkies. Notify the camp in advance for planned absences. For unexpected absences, email the camp by 8:00 a.m. In the event of a major emergency, campers will remain on-site until parents pick them up.
